Softball Game Preview: Gautier Gators vs. St. Martin Yellow Jackets

Gautier is 0-3 against St. Martin since February of 2023 but things could change on Monday. The Gators are taking a road trip to square off against the Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. Gautier has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gautier is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Thursday. They lost 12-0 to Stone.

Meanwhile, St. Martin fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Gulfport on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Admirals by a score of 11-10. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kiyara Lee was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Madalynn Broussard, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Gautier's record is now 8-11. As for St. Martin, their record now sits at 11-8.

Gautier might still be hurting after the 18-0 defeat they got from St. Martin in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
