Preview: Edison Chargers vs. Eastwood Eagles

Edison has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Eastwood Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Edison will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Edison put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Spencerville 48-0 at home. Given Edison's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Spencerville is ranked 530th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Eastwood never let their opponents score on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 14-0 victory over Pleasant. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Eastwood.

Eastwood's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caiden Maize, who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Eastwood also got help from Andre Lewis who showed off his sure hands for 85 receiving yards.

Edison's win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.3 points per game. As for Eastwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Everything went Edison's way against Eastwood when the teams last played back in November of 2016 as Edison made off with a 28-7 win. Will Edison repeat their success, or does Eastwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
