Baseball Game Preview: Immokalee Indians vs. Donahue Catholic Shamrocks

The Immokalee Indians will take on the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Immokalee will be strutting in after a victory while Donahue Catholic will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Immokalee turned things around against Gateway Charter on Thursday. They blew past the Griffins 11-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Indians have posted against the Griffins since March 31, 2016.

Aiden Puente was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Puente was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Immokalee let Adrian Ramirez and Ruben Anzualda run wild. Ramirez got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and two RBI, while Anzualda scored a run while going 4-for-5. What's more, Ramirez posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Diego Gutierrez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Immokalee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 26 runs the game before, Donahue Catholic was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They came up short against Moore Haven, falling 11-1.

Isaac Loboda made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2.

Immokalee's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Donahue Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
