Baseball Recap: Lovington Comes Up Short

Lovington managed to slip by Chaparral the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lovington Wildcats came up short against the Chaparral Lobos on Saturday, falling 13-3. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lobos earlier this season, when they won 14-13.

Lovington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Patrick Sanchez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Lovington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Chaparral, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. As for Chaparral, they will face off against Cobre at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chaparral is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
