Baseball Recap: Jimtown Extends Road Winning Streak to Seven

Jimtown came tearing into Monday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Elkhart Christian Academy Eagles with a sharp 18-3 win. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Jimmies this season.

Colin Davis was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Davis was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cole Dutton, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Broderic Kaler was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Jimtown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive games.

Jimtown's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Elkhart Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
