Football Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Gateway's offense. They had to suffer through a 33-0 loss at the hands of the Manual Thunderbolts.

Manual found their leader in sophomore Caylei Walker, who threw for 124 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Walker also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making two total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging two interceptions. Dayjah Fox did her part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 94 receiving yards.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Manual, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Looking ahead, Gateway will head out to square off against Poudre School District at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Stars' defense has only allowed 5.7 points per game this season, so the Olympians' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Manual, they will challenge George Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Thunderbolts 7.4, the Patriots 15) so any points scored will be well earned.
