Softball Game Preview: Hudson Explorers vs. Rootstown Rovers

The Hudson Explorers will head out to challenge the Rootstown Rovers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Hudson lost 18-12 to Twinsburg on Friday. The Explorers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shawna Baylor made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Bailey Deutsch, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Rootstown came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-4 win. The Rovers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Rootstown's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Hudson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
