Softball Recap: Hudson Drops Season-High Score on Cuyahoga Falls

Hudson's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers with a sharp 16-5 victory. The Explorers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Hudson got a massive performance out of Bailey Deutsch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Deutsch a new career-high. Shawna Baylor was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Hudson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hudson's win bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Cuyahoga Falls, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hudson will take on Solon at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Explorers are on a four-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and the Comets a seven-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck. As for Cuyahoga Falls, they will challenge Barberton at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Black Tigers are facing the Magics at the right time seeing as the Magics are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
