Volleyball Game Preview: Classical Academy Caimans vs. Cathedral Catholic Dons

The Classical Academy Caimans will square off against the Cathedral Catholic Dons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Classical Academy heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Tuesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Torrey Pines. While the Caimans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 25-19 in the first set.

Classical Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Cathedral Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Canyon Crest Academy on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cathedral Catholic took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 20-25, 22-25, 25-13, 16-14.

Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 23-12. As for Cathedral Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.

Classical Academy took their victory against Cathedral Catholic when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Caimans repeat their success, or do the Dons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
