Eaton hadn't done well against Carlisle recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 9-1 win. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 13-9 loss the last time these two teams met.

Meredith Pieratt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Madison Copper, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Statzer, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Eaton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Carlisle, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.

Coming up, Eaton will take on St. Henry at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Carlisle, they will challenge Fairmont at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
