Basketball Game Preview: Palm Beach Gardens Gators vs. Palm Beach Lakes Rams + Official Tickets

For the first time this season, Palm Beach Gardens will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Palm Beach Lakes Rams at 7:30 p.m. Palm Beach Gardens knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Palm Beach Lakes likes a good challenge.

Palm Beach Gardens took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They secured a 65-59 W over Cardinal Newman.

Christian Laurore was his usual excellent self, going 10-for-16 to rack up 28 points. Hershell Reynolds was another key player, putting up 17 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Palm Beach Lakes didn't have quite enough to beat Atlantic Christian on Thursday and fell 47-44. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 450th, while the Sharks are ranked 45th).

This is the second loss in a row for Palm Beach Lakes and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Palm Beach Gardens, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.

Palm Beach Gardens didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Palm Beach Lakes in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 62-58 win. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
