Baseball Recap: Ardrey Kell Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ardrey Kell extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 15-9 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Palisades Pumas. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 on Tuesday.

Dylan Veverka was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

As for Palisades, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Palisades' side, Micah VanFossen was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. VanFossen was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Ardrey Kell will take on Olympic at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a 14-game losing streak. As for Palisades, they will face off against Ballantyne Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.09 runs per game on average), something the Pumas will no doubt try to take advantage of.
