Softball Recap: Madison County Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While Madison County put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Port St. Joe. The Cowboys came out on top against the Tiger Sharks by a score of 4-0. The victory was nothing new for the Cowboys as they're now sitting on three straight.

Alden Bass was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Bass wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ryleigh Bass, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Madison County's record now sits at 10-2. As for Port St. Joe, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Madison County and Port St. Joe should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Cowboys (ranked 60th) will meet Lafayette (ranked 325th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Port St. Joe will square off against Altha at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (163 vs. 438).
