Football Recap: Gainesville Takes a Loss

Gainesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 41-13 loss at the hands of the Forest Wildcats. The Hurricanes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Although Gainesville took the loss, they still got scores from Zaydriana Hemingway and Nazarri Allen.

Forest had a senior duo take command as Key Black picked up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Olivia Romo threw for 130 yards and three touchdowns.

Gainesville's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Forest, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Gainesville has already played their next matchup, an 18-13 defeat against St. John Lutheran on the 3rd. As for Forest, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-0 loss against Robinson on the 1st.
