Softball Recap: Central Catholic Wins Going Away Against Reynolds

While Central Catholic put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Reynolds. The Rams blew past the Raiders 10-0. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Rams this season.

Grace Schellinkhout and Jaspen Lauderback-Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Schellinkhout tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lauderback-Smith tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At the plate, Schellinkhout went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI, while Lauderback-Smith went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Schellinkhout a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Pompetti, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Portland Razo, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Central Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Central Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Reynolds, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
