Baseball Recap: DeWitt Victorious

East Grand Rapids typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday DeWitt proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Pioneers 13-11. DeWitt's win was all the more impressive since the Pioneers were averaging only 2.04 runs allowed on the season.

DeWitt is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for East Grand Rapids, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: DeWitt beat the Pioneers by a score of 14-0 later that day.
