Volleyball Recap: Andrew Thunderbolts vs. Minooka Indians
Andrew lost against Minooka back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Thunderbolts took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. The Thunderbolts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Andrew was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-12.
Scott Dinnon paced Andrew's offense, picking up eight kills. Dinnon got some help from Aidan Aguayo and his 12 assists.
Minooka was led to victory by Nicholas Boyce and Adam Oswald. Boyce had 14 assists and eight digs, while Oswald had ten assists. That's the most digs Boyce has posted over his last 16 games.
Andrew's defeat dropped their record down to 13-21. As for Minooka, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-17 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Andrew will face off against Lockport at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunderbolts are facing the Porters at the right time seeing as the Porters are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Minooka, they will square off against Plainfield South at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
