Basketball Recap: Sundance Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Hailey Karol and Jaylin Mills

Sundance and Pine Bluffs squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Sundance had to settle for second. They took a 56-40 bruising from the Pine Bluffs Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-31 back in January.

Despite the loss, Sundance had strong showings from Jaylin Mills, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds, and Hailey Karol, who posted 11 points and eight boards. Mills' morning made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Sundance and nudges their season record down to 14-9. As for Pine Bluffs, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Sundance didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-55 defeat against Wright on the 28th. As for Pine Bluffs, they will take on Wyoming Indian on Thursday.
