Softball Game Preview: Nardin Academy Gators vs. St. Mary's Lancers

The Nardin Academy Gators will face off against the St. Mary's Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Nardin Academy came up short against Lancaster and fell 5-1. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nardin Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madeline Dehn, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's had just enough and edged out Frontier 3-1 on Tuesday.

Olivia Lange spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Nardin Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for St. Mary's, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Nardin Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like St. Mary's struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Nardin Academy beat St. Mary's 7-3 in their previous matchup on April 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
