Softball Game Preview: Hixson Wildcats vs. Sale Creek Panthers

The Hixson Wildcats will venture away from home to square off against the Sale Creek Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hixson is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Hixson's tournament run continued when they took on Boyd-Buchanan on Saturday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 2-1.

Sale Creek couldn't beat McMinn County on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Panthers took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cherokees. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Cherokees recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Sale Creek now has a losing record of 6-7-1. As for Hixson, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14-1.

Hixson took their win against Sale Creek in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
