If Princeton was riding high fresh off their 90-69 takedown of North Duplin last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Princeton Bulldogs opened the new year with a less-than-successful 62-49 defeat to the Hobbton Wildcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-44 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Princeton still got an impressive performance from Garrett Lane, who posted 17 points. Teo McPhatter was another key player, going 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points.

Hobbton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amir Tate, who had 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Richard Simpson, who posted 15 points.

Princeton's record is now 5-7. As for Hobbton, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-6.
