Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for IC Catholic Prep

IC Catholic Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against the St. Francis Spartans by a score of 8-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-11 back in April.

Madelynn Dinino spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sophia Deoudes was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Ariani Zito was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

IC Catholic Prep's win bumped their record up to 26-5. As for St. Francis, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 20-7 record.

IC Catholic Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Francis, they will host De La Salle at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
