Basketball Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 46-32 to the Lakewood Park Christian Panthers. The Blazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Avery MacFarlane was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds for Lakewood Park Christian. The contest was MacFarlane's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Davi Freitas, who posted 12 points and five steals.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lakewood Park Christian, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Eastside will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lakeland at 7:30 p.m. Lakeland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season. As for Lakewood Park Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bluffton at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
