Volleyball Recap: Anselmo-Merna Coyotes vs. Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs

Anselmo-Merna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Coyotes of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2015.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-18, 25-10.

Makenna Miller paced Anselmo-Merna's offense, picking up eight kills. Miller got some help from Lily Thornton and her ten assists. Thornton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Sumner-Eddyville-Miller can attribute much of their success to Allie Rohde, who had 11 digs.

Anselmo-Merna's loss dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Anselmo-Merna does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Central Valley on the 29th.
