Softball Recap: Marksville Tigers vs. Sacred Heart Trojans
Marksville fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Sacred Heart on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sacred Heart Trojans. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Katie Lachney was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over ten innings while giving up eight earned runs off 11 hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
