Softball Recap: South Albany Has No Trouble Against North Salem

South Albany was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against North Salem on Monday. The Redhawks put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 17-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Redhawks in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won three in a row.

South Albany got a massive performance out of Maddie Angel, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Angel is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Emily Tschida was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

South Albany always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

South Albany's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for North Salem, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Looking ahead, South Albany will be playing in front of their home fans against Crescent Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.53 runs per game on average), something the Redhawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for North Salem, they will head out to square off against McKay at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
