Volleyball Recap: Madison West Comes Up Short

Madison West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 29th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Sun Prairie West Wolves. The Regents were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Sun Prairie West scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-18.

Lily Smith paced Madison West's offense, picking up eight kills. Smith got some help from Claire Bunders and her 19 assists. Madeline Moroney controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Sun Prairie West was led to victory by Aspen Bollans and Jillian Kessler. Bollans had four aces and three digs, while Kessler had four digs and three aces. That's the most aces Kessler has posted over her last 14 matches.

Madison West's defeat dropped their record down to 0-28. As for Sun Prairie West, they pushed their record up to 20-14 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Madison West has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Sun Prairie East on the 15th. As for Sun Prairie West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Verona on the 14th.
