Mesa and Skyline are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Jackrabbits will welcome the Coyotes at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Neither Mesa nor Skyline posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Mesa fell victim to Boulder Creek and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Jaguars, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Jackrabbits in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost five in a row.

Mesa saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Gilmore, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Skyline was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Chandler.

Easton Leon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Skyline is 6-3 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-7 otherwise.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Mesa, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-16.
