Scotland has gone a perfect 10-0 against Lee County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Scotland Fighting Scots will look to defend their home field against the Lee County Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Scotland is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
Scotland is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Pinecrest get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Tuesday. With that win, the Fighting Scots brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.
Avery Stutts made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Scotland got a massive performance out of Addison Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Johnson has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ramsey Hale, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
Scotland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pinecrest only posted an OBP of .000.
Meanwhile, Lee County might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Richmond who claimed the real prize. Lee County fell just short of Richmond by a score of 11-10.
Kasie Roberts and Cherish Smith stepped up to the plate in a big way. Roberts went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI, while Smith scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.
Lee County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Scotland, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Everything went Scotland's way against Lee County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Scotland made off with a 10-0 win. Does Scotland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lee County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
