Baseball Recap: Carlisle County Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Carlisle County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Midland Valley Mustangs 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Comets have posted since May 13, 2024.

Cooper Wright looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caysen Mitchell, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawsin Moore, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI.

Carlisle County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Midland Valley, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13-1.

Looking ahead, Carlisle County has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Hart County at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Midland Valley, they will be taking part in a tournament against Campbellsville at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
