Apex Friendship dropped their record down to 12-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Willow Spring Storm by a score of 4-2. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Apex Friendship saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Marquis, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

As for Willow Spring, the victory got them back to even at 8-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 7, 2024.

On Willow Spring's side, Savannah Callis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks. Callis has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Abby Howard was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lynlee Ogburn, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Coming up, Apex Friendship will be playing in front of their home fans against Apex at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Willow Spring, they will take on South Garner at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
