Ballard had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They blew past the Portland Christian Eagles 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Bruins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ballard was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-20, 25-18.

Ballard's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Megan Helander, who had eight digs and two aces. Ruby Tennen was another key player, getting 22 assists and four digs.

Ballard's record now sits at 5-0. As for Portland Christian, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

Coming up, Ballard will host Christian Academy-Louisville at 7:30 p.m. on September 4. As for Portland Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Presentation at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
