Volleyball Recap: Crane Gets the Win

Crane proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pleasant Hope, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Crane has posted since September 22nd.

Crane wouldn't go down easily and took Pleasant Hope into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 23-25, 24-26, 28-26, 15-9.

Madi Lansdown had an outrageously good game as she had 40 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (five).

Pleasant Hope's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kylee Agee, who had 19 digs and two aces. Another player making a difference was Loraine Arciniegas, who had 16 digs.

Crane has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-12-3 record this season. As for Pleasant Hope, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-14-3.

Coming up, Crane will welcome Miller at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pleasant Hope, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenfield at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
