Softball Recap: Lightridge Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lightridge put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Centreville Wildcats a 23-0 shutout. The Bolts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Lightridge got a massive performance out of Maya Thaivalappil, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Riley Thomas, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Lightridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Lightridge's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Centreville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lightridge will take on Paul VI at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Centreville, they will square off against Alexandria City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Centreville's pitchers better be ready for this one: Alexandria City has averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
