Softball Preview: Chapman Panthers vs. Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers        
        
		
            Chapman is 8-2 against Blue Ridge since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Fighting Tigers  at 6:00  p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Chapman made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Chesnee, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp  7-1 victory on Monday. The  win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
 Alexis Floyd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on four hits. Those  hits marked the first that  she  allowed this season.

 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Krisylyn Wilder, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 3-for-3. She has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times she's  played.  Layla Bishop also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Blue Ridge came tearing into  Tuesday's  contest with four straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs  a   10-0 shutout. The Fighting Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven  runs or more this season.
  Lily Mulkey was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with three  doubles, two  runs,  and one  RBI. Those  three  doubles gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hannah Durham, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI.
 Blue Ridge's victory was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 10-5. As for Chapman,  the  win  got them back to even at 6-6.
 Chapman beat Blue Ridge 13-10  when the teams last played  back in March. Do  the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting Tigers turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
