Eastern Hancock proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 19) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Monroe Central Golden Bears. This was payback for the Royals, who suffered a 7-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Luke Fletcher was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Kolt Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Eastern Hancock has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Monroe Central, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern Hancock will welcome Tri at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Monroe Central, they will take on Muncie Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
