Softball Recap: Crockett Extends Home Winning Streak to 15

Crockett came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the McCallum Knights get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-4 back in March.

The result came thanks to Emily Castillo's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Sadie Peyton was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Vasquez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Crockett's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-7-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for McCallum, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Crockett will face off against Richards School for Young Women Leaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richards School for Young Women Leaders has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.4 runs per game on average), something Crockett will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for McCallum, they will take on Anderson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.19 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
