Football Recap: Jordan Starts Season with Win at Home + How To Watch

Jordan took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They skirted past the Leesville Road Pride 22-20. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 38-0 win the Pride walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2016.

Damien Hayes was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 165 yards and one TD. Those 165 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Jordan's run defense was locked in: Leesville Road could only muster 2.6 yards per carry. While four picked up at least four total tackles, Lareun Wilson stood above the rest. He made four total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended one pass. Jordan's ground attack was stronger, having averaged five.

Leesville Road's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Damacio Cueto, who threw for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Jayden Lee Perry, who picked up 41 receiving yards and one score.

Looking ahead, Jordan will venture away from home to challenge Southern School of Energy and Sustainability at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Leesville Road, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Wake Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
