John Paul II had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the St. Andrew's Lions. The result was nothing new for the Golden Warrriors, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

John Paul II got a great performance from Casey Rizzo as he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, Rizzo gave up only zero hits, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, John Paul II let Stewart Misko and Ben Solomons run wild. Misko scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Solomons scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Archer Dewig, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

John Paul II hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive matchups.

John Paul II pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Andrew's, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Paul II will host Coastal HomeSchool at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Andrew's, they will welcome Pinewood Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
