Softball Recap: Sparrows Point Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Harford Tech, Sparrows Point was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the John Carroll Patriots 4-3. This was payback for the Pointers, who suffered an 8-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Sparrows Point saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katyanne Fouts, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another was Alexa Benkowski, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Sparrows Point's victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1. As for John Carroll, they moved to 1-1 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sparrows Point will face off against Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for John Carroll, they will host C. Milton Wright at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
