Softball Recap: Teutopolis Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tolono Unity, Teutopolis was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Marengo Indians 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wooden Shoes have posted since March 31st.

Alyssa Tipton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on one hit and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Teutopolis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Wermert, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Teutopolis' win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Marengo, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Looking ahead, Teutopolis will face off against Farina South Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Marengo has already played their next matchup (against Tolono Unity), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
