Basketball Recap: West Tallahatchie Takes a Loss

West Tallahatchie lost against Simmons last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the West Tallahatchie Choctaws and the Simmons Blue Devils didn't end well, with the West Tallahatchie Choctaws falling 63-48.

Simmons' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Akiah Prince, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 22 rebounds. Those 22 boards gave Prince a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vontasia Rush, who posted 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

West Tallahatchie's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for Simmons, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 25-0.

West Tallahatchie does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Simmons, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against East Marion at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Simmons' favor as the squad sits on 15 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while East Marion has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
