Basketball Recap: Ascend Leadership's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak at Home

On Tuesday, the Ascend Leadership Aviators strolled past the Fayetteville O Outliers with points to spare, taking the game 52-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aviators.

Ascend Leadership found their leader in sophomore Landon Tarazon, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Zaedyn McCullough, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points and five boards.

Despite the defeat, Fayetteville O saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Samuel Williams went 5 of 12 en route to 16 points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

Ascend Leadership's win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-0. As for Fayetteville O, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Ascend Leadership wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-34 loss against Cornerstone Christian Academy on the 6th. As for Fayetteville O, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-35 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 6th.
