Softball Recap: Jamestown Red Raiders vs. Allegany-Limestone Gators
Jamestown had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it nine. They came up short against the Allegany-Limestone Gators, falling 16-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 28-1 back in April.
As for Allegany-Limestone, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
For Allegany-Limestone's part, Kailey Truman and Macy Darrow were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Truman pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Darrow pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Truman has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Truman got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Darrow got on base in both of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Riley Sudbrook was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Honeck, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
