Veritas Christian Academy's loss ends four-game winning streak on the road

The Veritas Christian Academy Warriors were the 62-53 winner over the Smoky Mountain Mustangs when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Veritas Christian Academy lost to Smoky Mountain on the road by a decisive 71-54 margin on Friday. Veritas Christian Academy just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.

Smoky Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Brown led the charge by scoring 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least 25% of Smoky Mountain's points. Custer Prenger was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds.

Veritas Christian Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for Smoky Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.

Veritas Christian Academy and Lake Lure Classical Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lake Lure Classical Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.1 points per game. Smoky Mountain and North Henderson will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. North Henderson will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
