Preview: Glen Lake Lakers vs. Buckley Bears
Glen Lake is 10-0 against Buckley since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Glen Lake Lakers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Buckley Bears at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Glen Lake is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Michigan (they are ranked 106th, while Buckley is ranked 434th).
Last Friday, Glen Lake's game was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They strolled past Leland with points to spare, taking the game 44-28.
Ava Raymond was a one-man wrecking crew for Glen Lake as she scored 15 points along with six assists and three steals. It was the first time this season that Raymond scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Eleanor Valkner, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Buckley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a 39-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leland.
Glen Lake has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Buckley, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11.
Glen Lake didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Buckley when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win. Will Glen Lake repeat their success, or does Buckley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
