Baseball Recap: Webbers Falls Warriors vs. Wetumka Chieftains

Webbers Falls fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Wetumka on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Chieftains by a score of 7-6. Gunner Shelby was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-6 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
