Basketball Game Preview: Huntington North Vikings vs. Manchester Squires

The Huntington North Vikings will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Manchester Squires at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Huntington North is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Warsaw: they outscored them in every quarter. The Vikings walked away with a 60-51 win over the Tigers on Saturday. The game was the first time the Vikings have beaten the Tigers on their court since December 2, 2017.

Huntington North got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Titus Schultz out in front who shot 60% from the field to rack up 26 points. Dalton Husband was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manchester). They secured a 62-57 W over Tippecanoe Valley on Tuesday.

Huntington North has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 66.5 points this season. As for Manchester, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
