Basketball Recap: 14 Straight Home Wins for Silver Lake

On Friday, the Silver Lake Eagles humbled the Hiawatha Red Hawks with a 60-27 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Red Hawks are ranked 107th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Silver Lake pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.7 points. As for Hiawatha, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

After both having extra time off, Silver Lake and St. Marys will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another on January 7, 2025.
