Soccer Game Preview: Lockhart vs. East View

The Lockhart Lions will head out to square off against the East View Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East View took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lockhart, who comes in off a win.

Lockhart is headed into the contest having not lost since February 21 and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Rouse a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 197th, while the Raiders are ranked 483rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Evan Estrada and Jorge Castillo-Valerio scored all three of Lockhart's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, East View unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Hendrickson, falling 4-0. The shutout was out of character for the Patriots seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in January.

East View's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 9-1-2 and their overall record down to 12-3-4. As for Lockhart, their win bumped their record up to 14-4-3.
